Calls at 3:00 a.m. always signal disaster. I only make these calls to my partner. This creates a problem when my partner is the reason for the call.
Short is fine. Put the date on it and write what you actually remember.
Send them the question, not an answer. They can write theirs wherever they like — on paper, back to you, or nowhere at all.
The message is sent from your phone or your mail app. Nothing about it reaches this site, and nobody here knows who you asked.
