What this site collects, and why

Visiting the site. The hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type) to keep the site running and secure. They are kept for a short period and not used to identify you.

The wall. When you leave a sentence on the wall, only the sentence and the date are stored. No name, email address, IP address, browser information or cookie is stored with it. Every sentence is read before it appears, and it may be edited to remove the names of living people or declined. Once published, it is public.

The mailing list. If you sign up for the weekly question, your email address is stored with our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit LLC, USA). You confirm your address by clicking a link (double opt-in). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and on request we delete your address. We never sell or share it.

No tracking. This site uses no analytics, no advertising cookies and no social-media tracking. Fonts are served from this site, not from Google. Cookies are only set for the site’s author when he is signed in to edit it.

Visit statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits, the page you came from, your country and your type of device. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not follow you across other sites.

Processors and transfers abroad

The site is hosted by GoDaddy, the mailing list is run by Kit, and visit statistics are counted by Cloudflare; all three are based in the United States. Where data is processed outside Switzerland or the EU, this happens under the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to info@writteninfull.com. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or to the data protection authority where you live.
